The Department of Academic Recognition and Authentication (ARAD) plays an important role in the scholarship program process.

It assists newly sponsored students in having their academic credentials authenticated and accepted at Canadian institutions. ARAD also liaises with other departments to request academic information regarding Saudi sponsored students.

ARAD offers comprehensive support services to all Saudi sponsored students in Canada from acceptance into a program at Canadian universities/colleges to graduation.

Serving as a point of contact on behalf of the Ministry of Education to request verification of degrees for academic credentials obtained in Canada for equivalency purposes. The department assists Canadian citizen and permanent residence holders and/or foreign nationals who graduated from Canadian Universities to authenticate their degrees as part of the employment-visa application process.

ARAD also works closely with Canadian universities and colleges who express interest in having their academic programs recommended to sponsored students by the Ministry of Education in Saudi Arabia.
