History

In 1932, King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman al Saud issued a royal decree announcing that all regions of the Kingdom would become united under one name: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. To commemorate the occasion, the King chose September 23rd as a day of national pride for all Saudi Arabian citizens.

Celebration in Canada

The Saudi Arabian Cultural Bureau, in cooperation with the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia to Canada, annually hosts a Saudi National Day celebration in Ottawa to celebrate the birth of the Kingdom. The lavish event is attended by embassy staff and Canadian academic and government officials.
