New policy effective 1 February 2009

1. The trainee needs to provide a written request to the Cultural Attache, with a supporting letter from the Program Director
2. The maximum allowance would be 6 months of French classes, in a small group class - not a private class
3. Classes are to be taken on a part time basis only so as to not interfere with the residency/fellowship program duties
4. After the Institution providing the French classes receives approval from the Bureau, they would provide the Bureau with an original invoice on a monthly or phase-by-phase basis, together with an attendance record and progress report
