Applying to Change Conditions or Extend Your Stay in Canada:
This part explains what to do if your current Temporary Resident Visitor Status, Work Permit or Study Permit is about to expire and you wish to remain in Canada:
NOTE:? All Saudi nationals coming to Canada must be aware that:
It is illegal to remain in Canada beyond the validity date of your status in Canada
It is Illegal to work without a valid work permit
It is illegal to study (in a program longer than 6 months) without a valid study permit
All Saudi medical trainees and students in Canada (enrolled in programs longer than 6 months duration) must have valid work or study permits.
All Saudi visitors (without study or work permits) are permitted to remain in Canada for up to six (6) months from the date of entry or as otherwise specified by an immigration officer (and written in your passport) at the time of your entry into Canada.? Anyone wishing to remain in Canada longer must apply to extend his or her stay in Canada.
The Cultural Bureau strongly recommends that you do not wait until the last minute to apply to extend your stay in Canada.
At least 30 days ? preferably 3 months or longer ? prior to the expiration of your work or study permit or, in case of visitors who wish to extend their stay in Canada, at least 30 days before the expiry date of your Temporary Resident Status in Canada, you must apply to the Department of Citizenship and Immigration Canada to ?Change Conditions or Extend Your Stay in Canada?.? This application may be made from inside Canada by preparing the forms and following the instructions set out below.? Completed documents should be sent to:

4. You will be brought to the ?Application and Forms? page.? Scroll down and click on Immigration Applications for Persons in Canada
5. You will be brought to the ?Immigration Applications for Persons in Canada? page.? Scroll down and, under the words ?Temporary Residence Applications? click on Applying to Change Conditions or Extend Your Stay in Canada
6. You will be brought to the page entitled ?Application to Change Conditions or Extend Your Stay in Canada?.? This application is for temporary residents who are already in Canada as visitors, students or workers, and wish to extend their stay, change the conditions of their stay, change their type of temporary status, or correct problems with their status. It is important to apply for the extension before the expiry of your status.?

7. Download and read the Guide (Form IMM 5217) and then download and complete all other documents as required.
8.? NOTE:? You will need to obtain a ?Fees Receipt?.? You can order the receipt form by mail or by calling the CIC Call Centre nearest you.
9. The completed application should be mailed or sent by courier to the CIC Case Processing Centre (CPC) in Vegreville, Alberta at the address set out above
