New Visa Requirement to Enter & Re-enter Canada

As of September 7, 2002, Saudi nationals now require a visa to enter and re-enter Canada.

Therefore, all Saudi's wishing to enter or re-enter Canada to study or train now require two separate documents issued by the Department of Citizenship and Immigration of Canada (C.I.C.):

• Students:Require a visa and a study permit (student authorization).
• Medical Trainees:Require a visa and a work permit (employment authorization).

To ensure that all present and prospective Saudi students and medical trainees are able to obtain the required entry visa with a minimum of delay, the Cultural Bureau has prepared a list of recommended steps to follow, divided into three categories:

• First-time (prospective) students and medical trainees who do not already hold valid Canadian study or work permits and who wish to visit Canada

• Students and trainees who are presently in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and are already holders of valid Canadian study or work permits and who wish to return to Canada

• Students and trainees who are presently in Canada and are already holders of valid Canadian study or work permits and who wish to travel outside Canada and re-enter Canada later
